First, if you are new to the world of integrative or anti-aging medicine, and you wonder whether it is valuable, relevant, or even real medicine, we encourage you to watch Dr. Andrew Heyman’s keynote speech in December of 2022 where he introduces the 30th Anniversary of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) at its annual World Congress in Las Vegas.  The video is approximately 30 minutes in length, and he confidently addresses the questions, doubts, and early criticisms that the profession faced. He goes on to show how anti-aging medicine has rightfully earned its place as a recognized form of medical leadership and he presents a fascinating real life case study to show its use in matters other than just health related to age
.

(Tissue Warning: we don’t think there was a dry eye in the room of several thousand physicians when he finished)

If you are scientifically curious and want to dive deeper into how CIRS is viewed medically, Dr. Heyman’s three videos of presentations he gave to physicians on the topic, including workshop formats, are often appreciated by non-medical individuals who just want to understand their own condition more. Surprisingly, we find patients often know these videos well when they show up on the first day of care.

The science of CIRS treatment continues to evolve, and transcriptomics (the science of changes in gene expression in this case due to CIRS) was just coming into view when the videos were made. But the diagnostic criteria, the impact of CIRS on a person’s life, the way they are often misunderstood medically – stands the test of time.  Therefore, if you want to hear a doctor talk to other doctors about what you think you may have, these videos can be enlightening and empowering.
